Week two: California Poppy

Welcome back to week two!
I didn’t think there was any way possible I was going to do a series inspired by the SB botanic garden and NOT do a poppy.
I’ll be honest with you, I struggled with the idea because I have mixed feelings about the colour orange! But here we are, and I’m LOVING IT. The California poppy is absolutely iconic here in the state of California; it is our state flower, after all.
I broke this piece down into three canvases, making it a triptych.
